I am sure it would be very interesting to spend one year in a country which is so different from your own. I knew Japan from the famous TV play "Tokyo love story" even when I was in my childhood. From then on I fell in love with Japanese TV play and cartoons.
I couldn't believe that I reached Japan even when I got out of Narita Airport in 8.pm 11th April. During the time from the airport to the UEC, I viewed the building and cars from the bus window . The cities are noisy and jumpy .Many building are irregular in shape. I found that it was of brightness in many buildings. Many Japanese people were working hard even in the evening. Pace of life is too fast. Everyone runs.
Japanese streets are narrow and crowded. But Japanese skillful drivers are good at driving in such narrow streets. It is very convenient to go somewhere by train in Tokyo. There are too many train lines and subways to remember. And trains are operated punctually and stop exactly where the entrance points are marked. So don't worry if you can't remember the exactly name of the place you will go. Just remember how many munites to the destination and then got off the train at that time point.
There is a saying that Japanese food is eaten with eyes. That may be the truth. A set menu is very popular in Japan. And I was always cheated by the good-looking dinner.
I have heard that Japan is a very safe country. So it is OK to go out without locking the door. I think it does make sense. Japanese are obedient to the established rules and orders. Consensus is highly appreciated in Japanese society.
To conclude, It's a just beginning of my impression about Japan. I expect that I will know Japan more deeply and widely.
