My university's name is King Monkut's Institue of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), which people in Thailand know as 'Ladkrabang' or 'Prajomklao'. KMITL has its origin from Nonthaburi Telecommunications Training Center (established with tecnical support from the Government of Japan in 1960), which located in Nonthaburi. In 1971, the campus was moved from Nonthaburi to Ladkrabang District of Bangkok. In 1985, KMITL achieved its current status as an independent state university. With royal permission, King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang bears the royal name of King Rama IV, knowns as Father of Thai Science, and has its symbol the royal crown emblem.
