I was one of the last people to arrive at UEC on the 3rd of October. When I got to Chofu bus stop, there were many friendly senior students waiting for us. Then we made the short trip to UEC. When we got to UEC, we met Sasaki-san and she then showed us to our rooms. When I saw the room, I remember thinking that it was smaller than what I had imagined, but I guess this is normal in Tokyo. During the first week we had many orientation activities and we met a lot of staff of UEC. The staff were all very friendly and helped us with the hard task of getting settled in. We eventually met Suzuki-sensei, who was extremely nice and quite funny at times. But the best thing about Suzuki-sensei is... he speaks English with an Aussie accent!!! He also studied at UQ, which is pretty cool. Even though this is not a uni specializing in Japanese language education, I think my one year stay will be full of good times and happy memories. The JUSST program provides us with a mini family here in Japan. (^-^)v |
