So you want to know about the University of
Queensland? Well, like I often tell people here in
Japan, its the best university! But I guess I
should give you some information and let you decide
for yourself.
Firstly, UQ has 3 main campuses at St Lucia,
Ipswich and Gatton. The main one being St Lucia,
which is where I am a student. On top of that, UQ
also has many other small teaching centres and
research facilities. There are currently about
33000 students enrolled at UQ, studying in more
than 380 degree programs. UQ also has high quality
English programs and foundation bridging programs
for international students.
UQ provides many oppourtunities for its students to
study abroad in many different coutries around the
world as well as allowing International students to
study at UQ as part of their degree. UQ is a member
of the Group of
Eight, which is the top 8 leading universities
in Australia. Also, UQ is a member of Universitas 21,
which is a select international network of research
intensive universities commited to world-best
quality and practice.
I am a student of the School of Information
Technology and Electrical Engineering (ITEE) which is a
part of the Faculty of Engineering, Physical
Sciences & Architecture (EPSA). Other
faculties include the Faculty of Arts, which I am
also a part of, the Faculty of Biological &
Chemical Sciences, the Faculty of Business,
Economics & Law, the Faculty of Health Sciences,
the Faculty of Natural Resources, Agriculture &
Veterinary Science and the Faculty of Social &
Behavioural Sciences.
In my view it's a great University. If you want to
know more, visit the UQ home page or feel
free to ask me any questions and I will try my best
to answer them.
