　今回のIE-IEレターは２つの対談の記事です。一つは国際教育センターの教員を紹介する対話で、これは日本語でお願いしました。聞き手にとっても話し手にとっても日本語は母語ではありませんが、ビデオクリップでもおわかりのように、お二人とも大変流暢なのでこの事実を忘れてしまいます。国際社会においてはこのようなコミュニケーションが普通です。言語を越えた相互理解の例として、お二人の丁寧な会話は国際教育にとって参考になります。また、国際教育センターの短期留学プログラム（JUSST短プロ）についても触れていただきました。 もう一つは４人による座談会という初めての企画です。出身国もベトナム（MICH特プロ生）、パキスタン（MICH特プロ生）、ドイツ（JUSST短プロ生）、日本（交換留学体験者）とみな異なり、当然母語も全く異なる３人の留学生と１人の日本人学生が英語を共通語として自身の体験や考えを他者に伝え、理解し合うというものです。しかし、４人にはそれぞれの個性があり、纏める上で困難がありましたので、仮想的な二人（AさんとBさん）を通して新型コロナ禍での日本での体験を語ってもらうという記事となりました。実際の会話の一部はビデオクリップにして掲載してありますので是非ご覧ください。 さらに、「読者からのお便り」の欄を新規に設けました。４人による座談会の中の二人から補足的な寄稿がありましたので、掲載させていただきました。読者の皆さんからお便りを頂ければ嬉しいです。ご遠慮なく編集部へお送りください。

　This issue of IE-IE Letters consists of two dialogues. One is an interview of one of our faculty members of the Center for International Education. Japanese is not the mother tongue either for the interviewer or for the interviewee, but as you can see from the video clips, both are so fluent that this fact is nearly unnoticeable. In the international community, this kind of communication is the norm. From the viewpoint of international education, their considerate conversation is an excellent example of mutual understanding beyond language. The dialogue also touches on the short-term study abroad program of the Center for International Education known as JUSST Program. The other is a roundtable discussion by four people, our first attempt. It deals with three international students from different countries, Vietnam (MICH Special Program Student), Pakistan (MICH Special Program Student), Germany (JUSST Short-Term Program Student), and one from Japan (Exchange Study-Abroad Student). Their native languages are all different. The purpose of the article is to see how three international students and one Japanese student, all of whom have different backgrounds and native languages, communicate their experiences and thoughts to each other using English as a common language. However, since the four students had their own distinctive personalities, it was difficult to present the story in the style of a dialogue. Instead, the article presents their experiences in Japan under COVID-19 through the eyes of two hypothetical people (A-san and B-san). Please also watch the video clips which represent some of the actual conversations. In addition, we have added a new column, "Letters to the Editor".
