Located 435 Km. Northeast of Vientiane, tourist can reach here by buses from Vientiane-Xieng Khouang and Luang Prabang, Houaphanh or by direct flight from Vientiane.

   The most attractive site is the plain of jars, with its large stone jars scattered across the misty plateau. The purpose of the jars, cared from solid rock 2500-3000 years ago remains a mystery. Approximately 52 Km.

   North of the provincial capital of Phonsavanh in Kham district, tourist can enjoy a bath in natural hot springs, but be careful temperatures can reach 60 oC. This province also has the dubious distinction of being on of the most heavily bombed areas in Laos between 1964-1973.
