Ghee Rice (Clarified Butter)

Ingredients

Bay leaves
Cinnamon
Cardamom
Cloves
Basmathi rice
Ginger garlic paste
Green peas
Yoghurt ( a little)
Ginger and garlic paste
Onions
 

Procedure

Heat a little oil and butter and add bay leaves. Fry cardamom, cinnamon and cloves in oil. Add chopped onions and fry till golden brown. Then add ginger garlic paste and cook for sometime. Add Basmathi rice and two portions water, salt, green peas and a little yoghurt and cook. When it is cooked, squeeze lemon and mix.

Serve hot.
 

Chole

Ingredients

Garbanza beans (chick peas)
Onions
Tomato
Potato
Chilly power
Turmeric powder
Dhania powder
Garam masala
Ginger garlic paste
Sugar - 1 tsp

Procedure

Make a paste of onions, garlic and ginger. Add chilly powder and coriander powder and turmeric powder. This is the masala. Keep it aside. Heat oil, and add chopped onions, the masala, and potatoes (cut into small pieces) and fry. When the aroma comes, add channa, tomatoes, sugar and salt (to taste). When the channa is fully cooked, add garam masala before serving hot.
 

Puri

Ingredients

Wheat flour
Salt
Hot water
 

Procedure

Make a dough with wheat flour, water and salt. Make small balls out of it. Roll it flat and deep fry in oil.
