Currently I am doing a dual degree at the University of Queensland. I major in Electrical Engineering and Japanese. Since I am only 2nd year, I have not yet decided exactly what path of Electrical Engineering I want to take. However, I'm interested a lot in computers, so I guess it will be something along those lines. I am now on exchange at the University of Electr-Communications, Tokyo. Here I study Japanese and a few Engineering subjetcs. I mainly came to Japan to study Japanese, so I try to make the most of every oppourtunity to learn more Japanese.
As part of our course here at UEC we are required to do a research project. I am doing a special project which involves teaching at a local primary school. We teach the 3rd grade students English and also teach the computer club. The computer club class is all in Japanese, which is a good challenge for us and the part I get the most out of. Through this project, I hope to gain better communication skills in both English and Japanese, and learn how to effectively teach a class of 9 to 12 year olds.
