Hai, my name is Vikram and I came from India.I did my masters at the University of Hyderabad, India. At first I came to Japan as a research student for a year. I really surprised with the research lab facilities and campus atmosphere of the UEC and joined as a PhD student  with the support of the MEXT scholarship.

My major is quantum and nonlinear optics and now I am working in Prof. Katsuragawa lab, which is a well equipped laboratory for Raman frequency combs and attosecond laser sciences. In UEC,  the under graduate teaching labs and research labs are well equipped and working experience is very nice and awesome. UEC has good number of research and academic collaborations with the well known universities and research institutions all around the world.

UEC has a Japanese language school, where one can learn Japanese from the basics and teachers are very cool and help the foreign students all the ways. Also,It has a international students affairs office which will take care of the international students throughout their course and their help during my course is unforgettable.

UEC has dormitories for International students, which locates inside the campus. Even if you stayed away from the university, it is easy to reach the UEC. The train station is very close and takes less than 5 minutes to reach UEC by walk. It has good transport facilities from all over the Tokyo prefecture.

UEC has International Cultural Exchange Society(ICES), under this organization the students from various countries gather and celebrate the various events like festivals, birthdays etc., and visit various places in group along with the Japanese students.

Finally, the experience in studying and living in Japan is so beautiful.

హాయ్! నా పేరు విక్రమ్. నేను హైదరాబాద్ విశ్వవిద్యాలయంలో భౌతిక శాస్త్రములో మాస్టర్స్ డిగ్రీ చేశాను. మొదటసారి నేను జపాన్కి పరిశోధనా విద్యార్థిగా వచ్చాను. ఆ సమయం లో యూనిర్సిటి ఆఫ్ ఎలక్ట్రో-కమ్యూనికేషన్స్ (యు.ఇ.సి)  లో పరిశోధన ప్రయోగశాల సౌకర్యాలు మరియు క్యాంపస్ వాతావరణం ఎంతగానో  నన్ను ఆకట్టుకున్నాయి. ఆ తరువాత జపాన్ ప్రభుత్వ స్కాలర్షిప్ కి ఎంపిక అవడంతో యు.ఇ.సి లో పీహెచ్డీ విద్యార్థిగా కోనసాగే అవకాశం కలిగింది.

నేను ఇప్పుడు ప్రోఫెషర్. ఖత్సురగవ  ల్యాబ్ లో పీహెచ్డీ విద్యార్థిగా పనిచేస్తున్నాను. ఈ ల్యాబ్ లో ప్రధానంగా క్వాంటం మరియు నాన్ లీనియర్ ఆప్టిక్స్ లో పరిశోధనలు జరుగుతున్నాయి. అట్టోసెకండ్ లేజర్ సైన్స్ కి సంబందించన ప్రయోగశాల ఏర్పాటు చేయబడి ఉంది.  యు.ఇ.సి లో అండర్ గ్రాడ్యుయేట్ బోధన ప్రయోగశాలలు అధునాతన ప్రయోగసౌకర్యాలతో ఏర్పాటు చేయబడ్డాయి.

ఇక్కడ అంతర్జాతీయ విద్యార్థులు వ్యవహారాల కోసం ఒక  ప్రత్యేక విబాగం ఉంది.  ఈ విబాగం విదేశీ విద్యార్థులుకు అన్ని విధాలుగా సహాయపడుతుంది. అదేవిదంగా ఇక్కడ బేసిక్స్ నుండి జపనీస్ భాషను నేర్చుకోవడానికి ఒక జపనీస్ భాషా విబాగం కూడా ఉంది.

యు.ఇ.సి లో అంతర్జాతీయ విద్యార్థుల కు హాస్టల్ సౌకర్యం ఉంది. టోక్యో లోని వివిద ప్రాంతాల నుండి విశ్వవిద్యాలయంకు రైలు మరియు బస్ సౌకర్యాలు ఉన్నాయి. రైల్వే స్టేషన్ మరియు బస్ స్టేషన్ నుండి యు.ఇ.సి కి చేరుకోవడానికి 5 నిమిషాలు కంటే తక్కువ సమయం పడుతుంది.

విశ్వవిద్యాలయంలో అంతర్జాతీయ సాంస్కృతిక మార్పిడి సొసైటీ కూడా ఉంది. ఇక్కడ అంతర్జాతీయ విద్యార్థులు జపనీస్ విద్యార్థులతో కలిసి వివిధ పండుగలు పుట్టినరోజులు జరపుకుంటారు మరియు జపనీస్ విద్యార్థులతో పాటు సమూహంలో వివిధ ప్రదేశాలను సందర్శిస్తారు.

చివరగా, జపాన్ లో అధ్యయనం ఒక మరచిపోలేని అనుభువం.
