Gabriel Andrade

My name is Gabriel Andrade, a Computer Engineering student from PUC-PR in Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil. I received the opportunity to study overseas through the Brazilian government program "Science Without Borders" in the year of 2014. Since my major is centered in between software and hardware fields, but I have always developed more interest on hardware itself, I have decided to apply for UEC, because it could allow me to study disciplines that are not part of my program or not available at all in my home university.

I can say, for sure, that the exchange program offered by UEC is totally worth it. There is a great diversity of classes taught in English, in both software and hardware areas, all of them with very good professors. Also, the staff which take care of the international students is very kind and helpful, supporting me all the troubles and difficulties I had when arriving in Japan.

Along with all of this, the campus life is pretty active and it have a great environment for making new friends which came from all over the world, and also Japanese students. There are many opportunities to join activities to know more about the Japanese culture, parties and travels. Also, the campus is very well located, relatively close to Shinjuku and Shibuya, but not so inside the fussy and noisy city center.

An unique experience, indeed.

Meu nome é Gabriel Andrade e estudo Engenharia de Computação na PUC-PR em Curitiba, Paraná, Brasil. Eu recebi a oportunidade de estudar no exterior através do programa "Ciência sem Fronteiras" do Governo Federal Brasileiro em 2014. Como meu curso é focado entre as áreas de software e hardware, porém eu sempre tive mais interesse por hardware, optei por me inscrever na UEC, visto que ela poderia me permitir estudar disciplinas que não fazem parte do meu currículo ou não estão disponíveis na minha universidade.

Posso afirmar, com toda a certeza, que o programa de intercâmbio oferecido pela UEC vale a pena. Há uma grande variedade de disiciplinas disponibilizadas em inglês, tanto nas áreas de software e hardware, todas com excelentes professores. A equipe responsável pelos alunos internacionais também é extremamente gentil e prestativa, ajudando em todos os problemas e dificuldades que tive no momento em que cheguei ao Japão.

Em conjunto a tudo isso, a vida na universidade, fora das aulas, é bem ativa e há um ambiente muito bom para se fazer novos amigos vindos das mais diferentes áreas do planeta, e, claro, alunos japoneses também. Existem muitas oportunidades para participar de atividades sobre a cultura Japonesa, festas e viagens. O campus é muito bem localizado, relativamente próximo de Shinjuku e Shibuya, mas não dentro do agitado e barulhento centro da cidade.

Realmente uma experiência única.
