Hello! My name is Eduardo Francisco Terzian, I am 21 years old, and I was born in the city of São Paulo. I have been living in Curitiba since I was 9. In Brazil, I was on the 4th year of the Control & Automation Engineering course, in the Federal University of Technology – Paraná (UTFPR).
It has been only three months since I have arrived at Japan, and it has been an incredible experience. The University of Electro-Communications is an excellent university to perform an exchange program. It offers English classes, as most of the foreigner students do not know the Japanese language, and Japanese classes, so we students can learn the language while we are here.
The university has an International Office Staff, who helps the students with possible doubts or problems that can happen. These people are very kind and helpful, and they really help a lot, mostly in the first month, when we are still very lost with the new life.
Chofu is a very good city to live in. Our apartments are 15 minutes from UEC by bicycle. Near the university it there are everything that is necessary for the daily life: marketplace, drugstore, arcade, karaoke, restaurants, train station, shopping mall, general stores, and so on. At the same time Chofu is a considerably calm city, it is still inside Tokyo, so it is very easy to go to Tokyo downtown, to some more busy places, like Shinjuku, Akihabara, Shibuya, and a lot of other places.
Life in Japan is great. It is a very safe country, there is always something interesting to do, and it is possible to make a lot of new friends, both foreigners and Japanese. UEC is a good university, located in a good region. It is, for sure, an experience that worth it.

Olá! Meu nome é Eduardo Francisco Terzian, tenho 21 anos e sou nascido em São Paulo, capital. Moro em Curitiba desde meus 9 anos, e lá estou em meu quarto ano do curso de Engenharia de Controle & Automação, na Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná (UTFPR).
Foram apenas três meses desse que cheguei no Japão, e tem sido uma experiência incrível. A The University of Electro-Communications é uma excelente universidade para realizar intercâmbio. Ela oferece aulas em inglês, pois grande maioria dos alunos estrangeiros não sabe japonês, e também oferece aulas de língua japonesa, para que possamos aprender a língua enquanto estamos aqui.
A universidade conta com funcionários do escritório internacional, que ajudam os alunos com os possíveis dúvidas ou problemas que eles possam vir a ter. Esses funcionários são muito gentis e prestativos, e ajudam bastante, principalmente no primeiro mês, quando ainda estamos completamente perdidos com a vida nova.
Chofu é uma cidade muito boa de se morar. Nossos apartamentos ficam a mais ou menos 15 minutos de bicicleta da UEC. Perto da universidade há tudo o que é necessário para o dia-a-dia: mercado, farmácia, fliperama, karaokê, restaurantes, estação de trem, shopping, lojas em geral, etc. Ao mesmo tempo que Chofu é uma cidade consideravelmente tranquila, ela ainda fica dentro de Tóquio, e é muito fácil ir até o centro de Tóquio, em locais mais agitados como Shinjuku, Akihabara, Shibuya, e muitos outros.
A vida no Japão é muito boa. É um país muito seguro, sempre há algo para fazer, e é possível fazer muitos amigos, tanto estrangeiros quanto japoneses. A UEC é uma boa universidade, localizada em uma boa região. É, com certeza, uma experiência que realmente vale a pena.
