Program Description
JUSST Program
Enrollments are available in April and October during each academic year. The regular enrollment period of the program is one year for 2 semesters. (However, a few may enroll for the 1st semester only)
Course Requirements
JUSST students are required to take both the Course Work and Lab Work. The minimum course work requirements for a JUSST student is as listed below.

Following "core subjects" are compulsory subjects that must be completed in order to meet the requirements of the JUSST program.

Japanese Language Class
Students are required to take a placement test at the beginning of each semester to assign to an appropriate class based on your level.

Science and Engineering Courses

UEC Academic Skills
Students are required to take the "Computer Literacy" and "Information Literacy and Research" in their 1st semester, and the "Publishing Literacy and Research" in their 2nd semester.

Lab Work
In addition to the Course Work, JUSST program students are required to take the Lab Work "Individual Study Project" for undergraduates or "Independent Research" for graduates. To pursue these reseach works, every student is supposed to be assigned to one of the research laboratories in UEC and receive advices from the faculty member. Please access to the UEC Researchers' Database to find the prospective supervisor at UEC in your research field or area of interest.
Language Used
All JUSST classes are taught in English except Japanese Language Classes. For expected English profeciency, see Language RequirementsLanguage Requirements.
Credit Transfer
Upon the request from a home university, UEC will provide the student's records (including the syllabus, grade information and referee's report) in the JUSST program for the possible credit transfer by the home university.
