July 29th is the home visit day, my host family is the Ouchi family.
At the beginning I am very nervous, because I just begin to learn Japanese, I can't communicate with others by Japanese. But I was amazed to find Mrs. Ouchi and Mr. Ouchi are very good at English. And they have two children, both of them are very cute and polite.
In the afternoon we went to a park in Fuchu first, we drink a cup of matcha at a very beautiful and quiet tea house. It was very nice matcha. I like matcha very much, in China I always drink macha but this is the first time I drink matcha with Japanese. Mrs. Ouchi teach me the Japanese manner to drink matcha like how to rotate the bowl and when to eat candy.
Then we went to a museum-府中市郷土の森博物館, it is a big and interesting museum, I learned many history and culture about Fuchu.
After we leaving the park, we went to a supermarket to buy some food for cooking Okonomi-yaki. The most impressive thing is the ice-cream store next by the supermarket-Baskin Robbins. It was very delicious. After shopping we went to back to Ouchi family's apartment. It is not very far from 府中 station. Ouchi's apartment is very clean. Mrs. Ouchi and Mr. Ouchi teach me how to cook Okonomi-yaki step by step. The Okonomi-yaki is very delicious so after I back to dorm I tried to cook it by myself, and I succeed, because Mrs. Ouchi and Mr. Ouchi are very good teacher. :)
And in Ouchi family's home I tried Japanese traditional clothes-yukata, it is the first time I wear it, I'm very excited to try it.
After dinner we chat some topic about Japan and China, like the education and some festival. It is the first time I know Japan also has Tanabata festival, and the story is almost same but in China we treat Tanabata as Chinese valentine's day. After that Ouchi family sent me back to UEC by car. The Ouchi family are very kind and considerate, I really have a nice day, and thanks again for teaching me how to cook Okonomi-yaki.
