2012/9/6~2012/9/7
Himeji Castle, Naruto Whirlpools Sightseeing Boat, Joruri Puppet Theater, Hokudan Earthquake Memorial Park
38 students joined
On September 6, our international students arrived at Himeji-Station by Tokaido-Shinkansen. First, we visited “Himeji castle” and looked around with the tour guides. We learned about defending tricks of the castle, stories about successive lord of castle, etc. Although we couldn’t see the whole picture of Himeji castle because it was under renovation, we could take a close look by coming up in the elevator to the eighth floor. We also enjoyed shopping around Himeji castle. Next, we moved to Awaji Island crossing the Akashi-Kaikyo Bridge, the longest suspension bridge in the world. In a hotel we had delicious Japanese style banquet dinner and hot spring.
On September 7, we took a Naruto whirlpools sightseeing boat to see whirling waves. After that, we saw the Joruri Puppet Theater which is the traditional art of Awaji. We got lectured on how to show a puppet looks like real person. Next, we visited Hokudan Earthquake Memorial Park. We observed faults made by the Great Hanshin Earthquake and experienced intensity 7 with an earthquake machine.
It was a busy trip, but we believe everyone could have a great time.
