After
flying around in Europe (Tallinn - Helsinki - Vienna) I finally reached my destination
- Narita Airport. Just in time - nice. I grabbed my hand luggage and
moved towards customs. Wow what a queue. I was thinking - ok it's early
in the morning and the personal hasn't arrived yet. But after one hour
the same situation - there were about 20 gates and 3 of them were working.
Strange. Ok an hour and 45 minutes and I was through the customs -
so this is right that there are massive queues in Japan.. I went for
my other luggage and hopefully it wasn't lost. But on the other hand
my back bag suffered in heavy damage. After finding my luggage I continued
to find my way out. At the next gate a boarder guard stopped me again
and started to talk with me. Unfortunately my japanese wasn't good
enough to answer his questions, because I knew only one word in japanese
"arigato"at that time. Anyway our conversation continued like this
- the guy was showing me pictures and I had to recognize what was on
the picture. Those pictures were about guns and drugs mainly. Finally
he reached another paper and showed me an english sentence: "Our dogs
discovered drugs in your bag". C' mon I hadn't seen my bag since Finland,
but yea - I had to follow him to some kind of a room where they unpacked
my whole luggage and thoroughly examined myself. The procedure was
actually so funny, they wanted to be as polite as possible and at some
point I just had to encourage them to do their job. Anyway - they didn't
find any drugs and apologized for causing the trouble. At this point
I already knew that this will be a niiiiiiiice year. |
